The need for thermal and acoustic insulation of hollow-concrete slabs usually arises only when these separate the heated spaces from the non-heated ones or from the external environment, where the Transmittance limits regarding the envelope must be respected, as set for the various climatic areas. This is the case of the floors in parking areas or other outdoor spaces, which must in any case also insulate against foot traffic noise, which can be easily transmitted to the property units on the same level or the levels above and for which insulation is ordered by law in any case. To solve this problem INDEX has devised FONOSTOPThermo, which by itself is able to provide both insulation against foot traffic noise and thermal insulation. FONOSTOPThermo rolls provide thermo-acoustic insulation by combining the acoustic insulation for foot traffic noise FONOSTOPDuo with an expanded polystyrene panel cut into strips. The resulting rolls can be laid more easily and more quickly than panels. The thermal insulation performance is mainly provided by the EPS 120 sintered self-extinguishing AE polystyrene with high resistance to compression, capable of keeping its thickness unchanged over time. The EPS 120 is a stable water-resistant insulation material with a coefficient of conductivity ?=0.035 W/m2K, which is cut into 50 mm wide strips
